WEEE R4 – small household appliances recycling

The evolution of electronic devices and the rapidity with which the electronic equipment we buy becomes obsolete has increased the amount of material available to the metal and plastic recovery market. WEEE identifies large household appliances and electrical equipment, while WEEE 4 identifies small electrical and electronic products like desktop computers, laptops, smartphones, USB sticks, credit cards, microwave ovens, washing machines. These products can be crushed, and their materials separated and sorted. Over 90% of the material can be retrieved. The following is recovered from this type of waste: metals, plastic, copper, aluminium and precious metals. The same process is used as for WEEE: crushing and separation.
